Dear Editor
My letter is in support of Alverta Palmer Jones’s candidacy for the Legislature. It is my belief and feeling that Alverta would be a wonderful asset to the Democratic Party in Saugerties. Among the offerings that she brings to the table are honesty, integrity, and vision for change in the communities of Saugerties.
I support Alverta’s vision for Outreach programs for the youth of Saugerties that would peak their interests and give rise to hope for tomorrow. These changes would in turn cause a new awareness and hunger for a better understanding of the importance of securing a good education at and for all levels and ages. I believe that Alverta would be very resourceful in gathering the wisdom of the peoples of the communities of Saugerties to put together great agendas for change for all.
In my opinion, Alverta is about the people. She is a good encourager and exhorter, a cheerleader of sorts. She is one who listens, feels, sees, and senses with emotion. She is one who can be counted on to champion the right causes. I am impressed that Alverta knows and understands the value of community. Community represents many and diversified life styles and ideals where much is possible and can be accomplished . Community is the foundation, pulse , heartbeat and the birthplace of many great beginnings.
I believe that Alverta Palmer Jones deserves a chance to exercise all that is in her that exemplifies a good leader. I feel very strongly that she deserves this opportunity to become a pivotal part of the legislative team of Saugerties. I believe Alverta deserves your vote of confidence. It is my opinion that Alverta is rightfully poised to take her position in the political arena because she is committed to the cause and call. Her strength and fortitude is in her confidence that she is well able to meet and match the challenges that are and will be presented to her.
I would not hesitate to cast my vote to choose Alverta Palmer Jones this November 3rd.

JONES HAS THE BEST INTEREST OF THE COMMUNITY AT HEART
I am writing to urge voters to support Alverta Jones. I know Alverta is family oriented and community oriented. These values translate into concern for our community. She is dynamic at getting ideas out. As an example of her community involvement, she helped head up the community choir, which was aimed at keeping young teenagers off the street. As a mother she has not only raised her five children, there were many neighborhood children that she took under her wing. Many young adults now have come back to tell her what she meant to them during their formative years. We have this opportunity to put someone in office that will have the best interest of our community at heart.

JONES HAS HONESTY, INTEGRITY
I'm delighted that Alverta Jones is running for Ulster County Legislature. I've known Alverta and her family for many years. We have an expression in our family that we use to describe some people, "She don't take no tea for the fever!" This certainly applies to Alverta. We use this phrase to describe a brave, tough, no-nonsense type of person. I would like to add, honesty and integrity, to the list, for if you know Alverta, you will know these are two of her best qualities. The voters in Saugerties, Lake Katrine, Ruby and the town of Kingston are lucky to have the opportunity to cast their vote for Alverta Jones. She will give her best and more as a first class representative.
