Marcy has lived & worked in Ulster County since 1983.
In the past she has worked as a Realtor with Nan Potter and was Chair of the Associate- Realtors Committee responsible for Educational Programming.
In the mid eighties she was chosen by the UC Realtors as Associate Realtor of the year.
Later she worked for Spina Chiropractic in New Paltz, as their Community Relations Director. Serving on the Board of the American Heart Association, she educated the public through health fairs and blood pressure screenings & CPR trainings in public schools, colleges, prisons and at the Ulster County Fair each year.
She has been in the hotel business in Honolulu, Los Angeles and in New York City. In the Hudson Valley she has been intimately involved in tourism working as a Senior Sales Manager at the Nevele, the Mohonk Mountain House and the Holiday Inn in Kingston.
Currently, Marcy is Corporate Sales Manager for the Holiday Inn- Kingston. She travels throughout New York State seeking new business accounts and services the association and government markets as well.
She is a Senior Sales Manager for the Upstate Holiday Inn Marketing Group consisting of 41 upstate Holiday Inns & Expresses in New York who share marketing costs & blitz yearly major cities in New York State.
Marcy is a Member of the two major trade Associations in New York-The Empire State Society of Association of Executives in Albany and the New York State Association of Executives in New York City consisting of over 2,000 members.
In June of 2007-Marcy was named, Associate Member of the year by NYSAE for her long term work as chairperson for the Membership and Associate Membership committees. This year she was asked to serve on the Public Affairs committee.
Marcy is a member and is a Board member of The Mid -Hudson Women, a tri –county women’s business group . A member of Ulster County Democratic Women, she is Chair of the Leadership Development Committee which seeks to support and encourage more women to run for public office. In the past, she was invited to attend the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee Campaign School in Albany. As a result, she hosted an initiatory information campaign school to enlist and encourage more Ulster County women to run for public office. It was very effective as more than eighteen women decided to run in this year’s campaign. She is a member of the Saugerties Democratic Committee.
She is a member of the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce and also, an active member of the Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck ,Woodstock and Saugerties Chambers as well. For five years she was the Co- Chair of the Woodstock Artists Studio Tour which raised money for an annual scholarship to an Onteora High School Student who is continuing their education in Art. This year she was asked to join the board of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Marcy has served on the board of the Salvation Army for the past 7 years and is the Chair for the Silent Auction for the Golf Outing every year, which raises money to send children to camp.
In the past, she has worked on the Board of the American Heart Association doing educational programs. These last few years she has coordinated local Blood Drives for the American Red Cross’ Spring and Winter campaigns.
Other memberships have included the Hudson Valley Marketing Association and the Entrepreneur’s Breakfast at the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation.
